Contractors Andritz Hydro and Mota Engil, are making huge progress on refurbishment works at Nkula A Hydro-power Plant. After successfully separating Nkula A intake from Nkula B, the modernization of Nkula A intake has now taken shape and has intensified at the site. Construction of a new state-of-the-art switch-yard is also underway. A recent visit inside the Power House also reveals massive progress in terms of installing new equipment that is replacing old and obsolete machinery. All these refurbishment works are part of the Infrastructure Development component of the United States of America (USA) $350.7 million power sector grant to the Malawi Government.
